The Darkest Seduction (Hqn)

The Darkest Seduction (Hqn) - Gena Showalter ***Originally posted @ ReadingDiva's Blog ***

REVIEW: The Lord Of The Underworld has been one of my favorite series to date and Gena Showalter one of my favorite PNR authors.

The Darkest Seduction is Paris’s story – to me Paris is one of the most exciting, funny and hot characters in the LOTU. Paris holds the demon of promiscuity within and can’t survive without sex, but there is a problem, Paris can’t have sex with the same woman more than once.

Paris has been fighting hunters for a long time, fighting for survival while also trying to find the artifacts that will help him and his friends find Pandora. In this installment of the LOTU we get a follow up to Sienna’s death. Paris non stop search for her to bring her to safety even if that means losing her forever, his inner battle with the dark that keeps trying to surface and his need to make Sienna his are what makes his story the more passionate. The author gave us a very matured, less playful and more focus Paris. This time he finally understands that there is more to the last encounter between him and Sienna, he feels there is more than his need to make sure she survives, and more to his need survival. I was happy to see these characters evolve and fight for what they thought to be just.

I enjoyed this installment very much – the way the author brought all these characters together again to create such an exciting story was amazing. I was happy to see Sienna coming out of the mold, she made her character a lot more enjoyable this time around. Her new abilities and strength gave the story the needed balance to make it a page turner. I liked how these characters fought for what they felt was right and held onto their sense of justice and loyalty. Paris’s story was heartfelt, the uncertainty and the many obstacles he had to overcome gave the story a sense of reality, it also made these characters more likeable. I like Sienna, her understanding and awaking into a world she always thought to be evil made her vulnerable but it also made her stronger.

I liked how she embraced her new reality and fought for her survival while also learning about sacrifice and respect for those around her. I think this story is one of my favorite so far. I liked that we got to see glimpses into other character’s life. I liked knowing how their relationships have evolved and how they are coping with the changes around them. I waited enough to read this book but I will not make the same mistake again. I will be picking up the next story and enjoy all these characters once again.

Gena Showalter is a great author, one that knows how to mix great romance with kick ass action without taking away the characters vulnerabilities while exploring the most deeply desires and feelings. If you are looking to read a great story of love and sacrifice then look no further.
